definition of beauty

Is a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. However, is that true beauty? To be aesthetically pleasing to another being? To fit their subjective definition of beauty? Yet this seems to be the common sense meaning of beauty which was brainwashed into us, currently the definition of beauty is constricted by limiters that forces human kind to fit into miniscule boxes to meet these so called beauty standards. Yet the human species is so diverse, not everyone fits into these tiny manmade boxes.

The idea of the current beauty standards stems from a white dominated capitalist country. America uses these so called standards for beauty to bring down the self esteem of people of all ages, genders, races, body types etc to sell products that would make these lost souls feel “beautiful” or fit the standards to get the self confidence to call themselves beautiful.

This should all be clear yet we feed the capitalist society with reasons to believe that we think ourselves not beautiful and then give them the platform of our insecurities to profit off of it. Yet still we never fit these so called national standards because of the sole fact that the human species is so diverse that we cannot put ourselves into boxes and expect to be up to par with these narrow minded beauty standards.

My personal opinions on what is beauty

The definition of beauty we know now is a social construct built to satisfy the pockets and minds of a white capitalist America. Then, the next question is, how do we eliminate these metaphorical boxes and pull ourselves away from this “textbook definition” of this outermost beauty? The solution is we have to be more narcissistic. We have to rip these boxes and ideas to shreds and realize that we will never confirm to just one beauty standard simply because we’re so different from each other. By believing this we make these boxes nonexistent and create a new definition of beauty. For ourselves.
